Warranty Information
Warranty Summary
Builders who provide the American eWarranty can select from a number of
warranty options for a new home.
The following is a general summary of
what the warranty includes, excludes and other important information.
Ask your builder for a copy of the American eWarranty which will apply to
your new home.
The Year 1
Workmanship and Materials Warranty
The Year 2 Systems Warranty
The Years 1-10 Structural
Warranty
The Year 1
Workmanship and Materials Warranty
In the first year, the American eWarranty applies to workmanship and
materials. One of the special features is that these items are clearly
identified so you know what to expect. You don’t have to guess what the
builder will do. Because the warranty is in writing and includes industry
standards, you are assured warranted defects will be corrected.
The warranty is not a maintenance agreement. Every new home requires
homeowner maintenance. And some items are not included or are beyond the
scope of the warranty. For example, furnaces and other manufactured
appliances have their own manufacturer’s warranty and are therefore not
included in the American eWarranty provided by your builder.

The Year 2 Systems Warranty
This warranty option applies to the delivery portions of the electrical,
plumbing and ductwork systems of the home. If included, identified
components will function as originally designed.

The Years 1-10 Structural
Warranty
This portion of the warranty identifies structural components which are
warranted for 10 years. It gives you peace of mind that if a warranted
structural component does not meet the tolerances established in the
warranty, it will be corrected.
